3rd February 2015 – Winter Update & Apologies…

Hope you all had a great Christmas and New year. Apologies for the lack of updates, the day job has taken over! (Nicola, I haven’t forgotten 🙂

We did manage to get a few games in before the cold snap, the League cancelled all games last weekend to ensure the pitches around the county are not damaged. We are yet to hear about this weekend so keep an eye on the website and facebook for the latest info.

The Spring Europa Cup is underway for the 9’s, 10’s and 11’s which runs through to May, the U8’s are still playing in the Salford League with one of the teams reaching the final of the cup (date TBC). The new U12’s team continue to develop and are hoping to get stronger in the second half of the season. Our U15’s are top of Division 1, goes without saying that this team have acheived some great things so to finish this season as age group champions will be the cherry on top of an already great cake!

Another great success story is our new Adult team. In their first season they are still in the cup, top half of the table and the overall commitment of the team and managers has been fantastic. We have been recognised by Cheshire FA for our acheivement in getting the team set up as Adult football is struggling in the Altrincham area so hopefully other junior clubs can follow our lead.

John and Colin are planning some games for the 6’s and 7’s so they can show off their skills, the most important age group at our club are in great hands and I will certainly be down to watch the first games…

Also there is a managers meeting this Thursday so if anyone has any issues they wish to raise please speak to your managers so they can bring them up at the meeting.
